The Environment Agency, from their fish farm at Calverton, carried out a restocking of chub on the R. Wharfe at Harewood; Wetherby and Boston Spa yesterday, approx. 1000 fish per venue.
A further stocking took place at Aldwark Bridge on the R. Ure again a 1000 fish went in.
All these fish are a free of charge stocking as a thank you to the clubs for their efforts in supplying of grayling which were caught and taken to Calverton for stripping and then the brood fish were returned to where they were caught and eventually grayling will be supplied as fingerlings
The E.A will be wanting the clubs to do a repeat of this exercise again this year, possibly in the next few weeks as the rivers are finally fishable
Many thanks to the people at Calverton for their contribution to our poorly stocked rivers and long may it continue.
Regards Graham

Hi Karl
The chub were only chublets of 4 ounce or so.

I think it's 7am, meet at the bridge Boston Spa. One group are going to fish the top length and another go down near the viaduct!
