I am about to join Leeds anglers club to do some pike fishing this winter. Can anyone recommend suitable venues. I have fished the Nidd mouth before. The actual mouth wasn't pegged out for matches when I was last a member, is this still the case? GEOFF

hi cheggers, there are 3 entrys into our water at ulleskelf and grimston park to give it its full title.as you come from taddy take the left turning to ulleskelf/selby,first left goes to grimston park ,as you approach the end of the lane park on the right befor the green/houses,walk towards the green and folow the road to your right, walk past the cottages and turn left down the track, you will come to a gate /style cross into the field if you walk straight accross it comes to peg 43,no 1 is upstream to your left peg77 is above the railway bridge. middle entry ,this leads to the railway bridge and is the entry for the bottom of the rapids/top of the railway field[p,77-100]. drive through ulleskelf vilage, first left over the railway bridge,on the road that leaves the vilage park on the left after the last house, go back to the junction turn left down the dead end street,100yds on the left is a track to your left ,go down there you will come to a gate the river is only 40yds away thats peg 100.. as you can see all this is just a brief description of 1 venue,we would need a dictionary to do it for every venue, but a picture paints a thousand words,so i hope charleyfarleys maps come out ok.stan..

Hi Stan. I found it. Parked on the lane leading out of the village.
Nothing showing on the pike front, but saying that, Only using spinners. Water was very clear, visibility down to about 4ft under water.
Had a good walk up from peg 100 to the second stile after the railway.
It's a shame I could'nt have taken 100 wooden stakes and re-pegged it :-)
Only went out for a couple of hours and a walk really, so hence the spinning.. will try the nidd next week.
I'll post a question on the other thread to ask about tactics/fav pegs when course fishing ulleskelf..
Carl.
