Right......Here I go.... I used to do alot of match fishing at club level about 10 years ago. Not blowing my trumpet here but I won the points trophy 4 years on the trot and was always in the frame, so pretty succesfull at what I did. For one reason or another I packed it in and did not go fishing at all for about 6 years. I got the bug again about 4 years ago and started pleasure fishing but only started to go on matches this year as a visitor with a few clubs. Bottom line is I have done crap, but learned an awful lot about new methods. I now need to take that to the next level and start competeing and getting in the frame. I think what I am doing is basically sound, but I feel I am lacking in a few areas. Is there ANYBODY who would be willing to let me tag along so that I can listen, watch and learn. Rigs, feeding, watercraft etc etc etc etc........I am not a numpty, just frustrated !! I promise I will not be an hindrance, I just want to learn and be a better club angler next year if and when I decide to join a club. If anybody wants to take up this challenge then please PM me. I have been down to Kippax a few times , but useless to me as they do not allow anybody to walk the bank !!
HELP !!!

audi, We stopped bank walkers at kp due to joe public taking toddlers and dogs around the lake and generally making a nuisance of themselves and ruining near side pegs, anyone who genuinely wants to learn will be made welcome, its obvious with your background that you know the score and wouldn't be a problem! there are some class acts using kp now and i know all of them will be willing to help "you will learn more in an hour watching a good un than you can in a week sorting it yourself" if you want more than just commercial knowledge i give you an open invite from the Leeds team to come and run the bank on one of the Yorkshire winter leagues, anglers like Dennis White, Keith Hobson and a host of other "names" are all on show and you cant help but learn. Just post back and we will arrange something! regards frim.

I also think the standard of anglers is way up from what it used to be, 10 years ago the internet wasn't as widely available to help people out, Ive learnt so much from internet forums and meeting stars through it. Smirnoff on here is one of the most helpful chaps around, He sat behind me at oaks sessay on maple, I went from catching steady to bagging in about 20 mins!

Heyup Dave, Andy abd Frim have very kindly offered their services and I am really grateful and I will be taking them up on their offers........ I just need to be taken under their wing and do my apprenticeship again, espescially on the commercials.
