I've heard that there will again this year be matches held on the polo pond. Is this true?
I was under the impression that the few held last year were the only ones to be held there and no further matches would be held on the polo.

I see numerous posts on these forums from many different anglers and there seems to be a landslide of posts with grudges against Leeds asa.I myself have purchased the Leeds book for the first time, along with one for my brother and his son, also 2 night permits for them for one of the Lakes. Sorry to say i will not be renewing them for a second year. Seems that for want of a better phrase the club" couldnt organise a piss up in a brewery". Not pulling down the guys who seem to do all the work in upkeeping etc, but the guys who seem to make the decisions are the culprits. You need to listen to your "bread and butter" guys, yeah, the paying public. your like polititions all pissing in the same pot, full of promises but doing stuff all when you have the votes in. Thanks but no thanks, I think my 500 quid or so will go to new and more organised clubs.

If you want something changing, then wake up smell the coffee, its you "the members" that make the decisions (or should i say SHOULD make the decisions, if you could be bothered) get off your arse form a club attend the delegates meetings and push for change. Or take your £500 and go moan somewhere else

I understand there are matches booked on the polo pond and Mr Whittaker put up a notice on the board stating that they were taking up 20 pegs for 4/6 for a disabled match with no stipulation as to which pegs were to be used plus last year the bailliffs or committee men said that they would not take up any more pegs than 50% of the total pegs for matches, as there are on 30 pegs at the polo this surely means that only 15 should be used,I have no objections to disabled matches there as I am disabled myself but other more casual fishermen or ladies should be able to fish at the same time so therefore designate which pegs are to be used to avoid any confusion on match day for everybody. When I phoned up the leeds to-night I was informed that if I went fishing tomorrow and ended on one of the pegs to be used I would be told to move, this is wrong.

I must apologise, i started another thread on matches at kippax polo pond and wonder if its possible for one of the mods to move it here. Sorry i did'nt check but i never new that they had started matches there again, as i was told that they would be held on the new pond opposite.

designate which pegs are to be used to avoid any confusion on match day for everybody. When I phoned up the leeds to-night I was informed that if I went fishing tomorrow and ended on one of the pegs to be used I would be told to move, this is wrong. Totally agree! When we had matches booked at Catterick I always made sure that details of which pegs were being used were put on the notice board several days to a week in advance, that way everyone knew what the deal was as to which pegs were fishable by pleasure anglers. i never new that they had started matches there again, as i was told that they would be held on the new pond opposite. That was the plan but with most of Leeds' plans, it was flawed! The ponds were overstocked with fish to begin with, couple that with the overfishing that has inevitably taken place and the fish have suffered from a stress induced illness, thus resulting in the closure of the lakes while resting and treatment was carried out.
