Hi pete, ive been fishing easd**e a bit this season. It's been prety hard going, have caught a few barbel but they've Been few and far between. Don't think choice of bait is too important, locating fish is the hard bit! Plenty of nice chub nocking about, I've had them up to 5lb and that's whilst trying to ignore em! There are some great looking swims upstream, about 2/3 fields, Had a beter day today, like anywhere the wharfe fishes better with a couple of foot in, hope this helps Karl Thanks Karl, got a few tips from BFW members. Locating fish is the key, but also the hardest thing to do.

Hi shineon, there are some double figure fish, it only took me about 20 odd sessions to get one, it's not a place for the faint hearted but if you are prepared to put the time in, you will hopefully be rewarded. I've had good fish on different baits, there is no magic formula at this place, I've moved on now, fishing for me is not supposed to be an endurance. Leeds Ulleskelf & Tad lengths offer a better chance of barbel.

Hi johny, there is an island just above the top limit! Tried to walk to it this aft and I'm lucky to have made it back!!! There are a few good looking swims but I walked long distances without being able to see the river, Id be more inclined to think the quieter it is, the more likely it is there will be fish there! It will be hard work this week, the rivers back to normal level

I think Mattsbravo is talking about Thorpe Arch Tradeing Estate sewage works at the start of the Leeds length. How did you reach the top section, by walking up from the parking area at Easd**e? Ordnance Survey shows a public right of way footpath from Thorp Arch to get to the top of the Leeds water , under the old viaduct then past the old sewage works near the trading estate. It just looks like there might be one farmer's field after the viaduct where might have blocked the access, but that's just a guess based on google Earth. Is this still accessible anyone know? Rushy any local knowledge? (I promise to feed your bird on the way past if we go).

I had a walk to the end of the length last close season and it was a nightmare. A lot of the river was inaccessible, you had to fight your way blindly to the waters edge. Another big problem was lack of styles in the barb wire fences, it wasn't until I found the new limit sign that I was sure I had been on Leeds water all the time! I think it could do with access improving here and there, but what it really needs is fishing more!

You then follow the path at edge of field, then carve you're way to the end of the Leeds Length, or if you're lucky, someone like me, will have knocked a path.

We chanced it today anyway and the path was easy going, dropped down into one of the first pegs and found a chubby-looking spot or two, but blanked on both ledger and float and as me hands were freezing I had a little spin to warm them up .... just 10 minutes till a lovely 7¼ pound pike took my little shad mid-river. Enjoyable day! We've been fishing till after 5.30 pm three days running now... not long till spring eh!

It's a while ago, but I was taking a couple of mates fishing, one was going piking and asked if we could drop him off at easd**e. Me and my other pal went after chub on the ure. We had an ok day if I remember, but when we picked our other pal up at easd**e he'd had a 23lb pike. What a fish and a venue full of surprises! Eddie
