OK Wrighty, so Knotford will be rainbow coloured by the time the treatment is finished?

Dave,
As for roping off the pad, it would only be a small section opposite the swamp. Just to prevent anglers fishing over the top of the pads. You'd still be able to fish up to them from the opposite side.
Your thoughts?

not differant colours all at once just one and even if you did mix colours it would just end up a mucky brown but this is a topic that will never pls every angler so i reckon the club will do what they think is correct and i'm happy to go with that as i cant do much to change it

The rainbow bit was supposed to be a joke Wrighty, but my problem is that if the dye worked and killed off most of the weed, it would also kill off most of the natural food that depends on the weed and - perhaps - ultimately result in fish losing condition. Quite apart from which, a bright blue Knotford would look stupid.
Dan, I could probably live with a small section of the pads being roped off, I just felt it would be a shame if the actions of a few resulted in the rest of us having our fishing compromised.

Dave, I totally agree with what you're saying, why should ones fishing be compromised because of the mindless few?! but some have the attitude of "catch at any cost". Maybe I'll just see how it goes in the warmer months and play it by ear.

Surely the ropes will only be there a few days- isnt the idea to stop idiots fishing for spawning fish- take it down when theyve finished.

It'd be for a bit of both. Some people have a tendency to fish over the top of the pads, and attempt to get the fish back through them, which is ridiculous as the roots are massive.
But I agree that if it were for spawning only it would only be days, maybe a week.
