I cannoy believe we r stil having issues with the horses. There must be a reason the club let them take the mickey like this. The owners of the horses do next to nothing for the lake. Come on leeds there is a thread every year about this and no answers or anything done. Ive not been to knotford since the winter when I had a young horse trying to eat my indicators. A friend of mine was nearly hit by a metal spike flying around behind a horse. Maybe a the 50% rise in night tickets is to pay for hay and horse licks

I've read the pike thread jgpark and yes you sold land you will never use that's great raise money for the club,, But there are horses roaming free that can will and do go upto your tackle,,, if this was destroyed or if I was injured would I be insured covered for loss of earnings and compensated,,, By the club ?? Like I say I bought my book to try fish knotofrd, I'm not interested In much else water really,,, And haven't used my book since I bought it,,, i don't want to put my self or my kit at risk through this Knotfords a beutiful water if like a fair crack at it but feel I can't So that being said would I be able to recieve a refund if I sent my book back ?? Or are the horses being fenced off and chained down Cheers jimmy

It really is a joke as you say Jimmy. I went piking in winter and my boots often caught in the deep mud that the horses created such that I thought I would lose them. I used to fish it years ago - it was a magnificent tench and carp fishery. When you pitched up by the car park length it was like being on the lawn at castle howard - lovely fishing. I drive by it every week and you will see several anglers fishing the No1 lake but hardly ever the Leeds water!! Now it's trampled to death and unless you are really determined a walk to the far side should not be undertaken by the feint hearted! But the powers that be rarely fish the societies rivers or any stillwater other than kippax. The society is stagnating and at best living in the past. There are hopefully signs of change change - it can't happen too soon for me !!!

The other point of concern is Rivers are hard to get to from the most agile of members,,, carrying all that gear steep pegs and so on,,, So the disabled angler wants a water with ample parking near to the lake with secure safe surroundings Knotofrd doesn't seem to produce this really does it ?? Yes there's kippax complex which is a lovely lovely complex but for the specimen hunter it's no good,,, Knotofrd should be the flagship water of all waters,,. With safe surroundings accessible pegs and most of all fish to fish for I'll never forget fishing on the Calder on the BFd no1 book down at lillands farm is it Hells bells there was a heard of cows right towards me horses sheep and the whole shooting match,,,, Destroyed my setup in seconds and frightend the life out of me I don't want to put myself in this situation again

Now just a quick question is it right that Leeds have sold some land to the lad with the horses at knotsford and are going to sell him some more for a nice tidy some,if it is true is this five figure sum going towards restocking the place or is it for else where.I'm sure a committee man could answer me these two questions , and if you have informed the members sorry I must of missed it ,that is if their is any truth in it ,no smoke with out fire Cabbo

A deal is being done to sell two plots of land to the family that live ajoining the fishery and putting the income into stocking would be the way forward, something must be done with this fishery to make it inviting to the members of the club.
