While you all argue about it the club who do's bugger all and the officials who do bugger all are currently seeking advise as to the way forward, ie do we/you have a problem with the water if so what can be done, if anything. We don't have to be posting on here to be taking note and acting where and if possible. No doubt this will get me more abuse but what the hell, I do bugger all for the club. Regards Graham My thoughts and opinions where not directed specifically at you graham and were by no means personal, so please do not take it that way. I for one appreciate the work you do for the club and you seem to be the one who is trying to drag it into the future. I Think gazzab78 has hit the nail on the head, it is the lack of communication between the powers that be and us mere members, that seems to get everyone's back up. Why not thank the members for bringing this matter to the clubs attention, state the clubs intentions and then keep us posted? As suggested the forum is not been used to its full potential. Glen.

We as members can make a difference ! One man - rushy - has managed to get far more information to me as a long time member than I have ever received before. I have been motivated to attend a working party that I never did before and the enthusiasm on that trip was infectious and I feel confident it will continue. The future of this club is moving into new hands and the ways of the past with hand written ledgers and working men's clubs will go the way of Tetleys Brewery

I wasn't having a pop at the club or anyone Graham, sorry if that is how it can across. It wasn't only pike I saw a problem with,a large carp of 28lb was washed up dead as well as a skeleton of another carp in the reeds on the bank by the river. You can tell how healthy a water is by the health of its predators and if they disappear it normally spells trouble.I posted on here to make the club aware if they were not already as it is the only line of communication I have with the club.If I was looking at causing trouble and slag the club off I could have and quoted things I have been told by other members,Which I take with a pinch of salt by the way as I don't know the whole story. As for clean clear water causing a decline in silvers Binner,Walk over the road and look at Bradfords Knotford,Clearer than ours and teaming with roach, bream, chub, perch and tench

It would be refreshing if your post highlighted the opportunities in pushing the club forward and what exciting times lay ahead for the club. Your negativity only highlights the urgent need for change at the top in my view - but in my book you stay mate.

Hi all involved in thread, think officials' do a thankless task running club, but anyone bringing a problem with a venue to all of our attention on forum deserve great credit. Read this topic with interest, the pike seem in a pitiful state very sad. I think most of us posting don't have a gripe with club, but need an easy route of communication to ask questions or raise concerns. Maybe put an option on forum just for this⁉

Read this topic with interest, the pike seem in a pitiful state very sad. I think most of us posting don't have a gripe with club, but need an easy route of communication to ask questions or raise concerns. Maybe put an option on forum just for this⁉ Hence my post Barbus. The forum can be much better utilised. But yet again not a comment from the powers that be regarding improving communication or telling us the clubs plans, when such issues are raised. A sad state of affairs I'm afraid. Having any option on the forum to raise concerns is a great idea. However and here's the massive but.....the club need to inform us, the members what plans if any the club have to tackle the problems. Take the horse issue at knotford for example. Many questions and points raised but none answered. Doesn't that tell you something? If the committee don't answer our questions, tell us what they'll do about problems then it just becomes a thread of grips. People will get fed up and will leave the club. I appreciate the hard work that goes into running a club of this size and also understand it's a thankless task. However the club needs to seriously start listening to members of the club and act on concerns or a least answer them. On a very serious note and I am deeply concerned that I have to say this but if the club continues in it's present state ie ignoring its members concerns then it will cease to exist in 10-15 years time if not sooner.

Fully understand the concerns over lack of communication and will try to be more available to supply answers.
Lets start with the horses at Knotford, Andy deals in horses, buys them in and sells them on, some time ago I agreed the sale of a plot of land of about three quarters of an acre this is situated on the corner of the road to the sewage works and our entry road, this land will never be used by the club and should result in the horses being paddocked away from members tackle. That said I admit I should have concluded this deal quite some time ago and had it signed and sealed, therefore I will make sure it is done post haste if Andy doesn't tell where to go after all this time.
On April 29th the treasurer and I visited nine riparian owners to pay rent for the coming season and we had a successful day in that no increases in rent requested and just as importantly no complaints were received, that is down to you guy's. The venue's visited were Asenby; Helperby; Hunters Lodge; Linton; Newton; Nun Monkton; Nidd Mouth; Moor Monkton and Ulleskelf.
At Linton-on-Wharfe we have this heli pad construction to deal with, I have been in touch with both the land agent and the solicitors and currently await reports.
Regards
Graham

Graham, that's just about the perfect response. A brief outline of what's happening at committee level on occasion shows that concerns are noted. Wouldn't expect anyone fancies sitting at a keyboard answering endless questions, but say a monthly notice board thread by committee might not be a half bad idea. I don't expect we want to hear every detail of club workings, just something like your last post addressing particular topics of concern.cheers Eddie.

Graham,
Thank you for your post. It tells us what's going on. May I suggest at the next meeting you try and find comrade to help you keeping us lot up to date. Seems unfair it's all down to you mate.

Hi Gaz I'm sure you would have seen them, but just in case you haven't, I post the minutes of the Delegates meetings on here every month. I set this up, with Grahams agreement , with the sole purpose of ensuring that if the Delegates know about it - so does every Leeds ASA member and indeed everyone else who reads this open forum. I'd rather it be a closed forum but that's another day !!! As Graham only did his visits on the 29th April, this will no doubt be discussed at the May Delegates meeting All the best Rushy

Hi rushy, well done with match, looked brilliant, and seen your post's on minutes, very helpful. But think this is a thread on raising concerns and asking questions. Graham and yourself are fantastic at delivering info, but no harm in members being able to ask questions. The questions do have to be valid though. But it must be worth listening to members concerns.

You’ve just reminded me Eddie – I’m away for the next Delegates Meeting on the 29th May but I understand I can nominate someone to stand in for me. A couple of hours on a Thursday night , find out what’s going on first hand, meet the other Delegates, make a few notes to post on forum so everyone else knows what’s going on and that’s it ! Any volunteers ?

Regards Graham Thanks very much for your reply and reassurance even though I didn't start this thread or ask questions on any of the above..Heli pads, rent increases, lack of complaints and horses have nothing to do with the apparent lack of fish in Knotford.Could the moneys from the sale of the small piece of land be reinvested in stock other than carp for the lake??? I know the club now class this lake as a Specimen water and have nearly tripled the price of the night permit resulting in less night permits being sold and there for less carp anglers fishing the lake.Would it not make sense to stock other fish so the lake could be used to its full potential and stop the decline of the pike population which in turn would attract more anglers to the club???
