Nice one Geoff, when your arguments fall apart why not resort to insults, it shows you for what you are, a big mouth behind a keyboard, you can't hide forever, what goes around comes around. Ps. Who posted the picture of the knotford pike? That's right it was you, what a hypocrite and doesn't that make you the stupid one, let me think, answer yes it does. As Eddie correctly points out pot and kettle, i dont know you Geof and you dont know me and i dont want to cause offence and i would not normally get involved in this but i dont think there is any need to be so acidic about things try being more constructive All the best

My advice would be to get in touch with Allerton bywater club who runs lowther because there's a lot of similarities between the two waters but knotsFord now is where lowther was ten years ago...now lowther is one of the best specimen fisherys in the north ,knotsford does need improving as a fishery no doubt about it

Get rid of the horses prune a tree or 2 and keep a close I on catch results then at the end of 2015 a stocking policy can be put in place that's all that needs doing.

Get rid of the horses prune a tree or 2 and keep a close I on catch results then at the end of 2015 a stocking policy can be put in place that's all that needs doing. What sort of stocking policy would you like to see mate ?? A sensible one. Not over filling it I think there is enough carp tench and bream in there. It needs to be thought about to get the year classes through but maintain existing stocks growth rates, as th lake seems to have settled down this year and alot of fish have put on weight where as a few years ago this wasn't happening the growth rate was slower. It's an unspoilt gravel pity, it's ment to be challenging and when you catch it's rewarding and I'm not just talking about size. Some of the best looking fish I have ever seen are in knotford are are as small as 7lb but absolutely beautiful. It doesn't need to be about hauling 20's and 30's all the time it's the bigger picture, the whole angling experience, sitting in beautiful, peaceful surroundings with the anticipation of catching. Not turning up to a mud puddle expecting to catch multiple fish. As for the pike I don't really know is stocking it with silvers the way because what happens when the.pike and cormorants have eaten the all it will need re stocking. From past experience if it where stocked with silvers it would feed the pike but not attract general.course anglers because they would fish the car park bank once or twice and catch one or two the just start slagging the place off saying it's sh!t. Well it's not sh!t it's a specimen water that's a challenge not like the millions of over stocked muddy puddles where it's a bite a chuck. Its a totally different fishing experience, as is river fishing sea fishing fly fishing

Jimmy fullacrap, as I said in an earlier post I have accepted it won't become a syndicate. There's more important things in life to contend with. I'm very reluctant, however, to renew my leeds book with you being involved with the committee. For what's it worth I do wish leeds the best of luck and hope they make a worthy decision. Wear your medal with pride ducky x

Im glad things are looking up. Once the horses are sorted members will return as its one of the best lakes around. From what I hear the fish are all up in weight maybe its because the biomass has been reduced by the otter. Maybe a record of fish caught next year will give an idea but it seems to have plenty in that are thriving. Im not sure about the pike but surely they will find a sustainable balance. It was only 3 years ago it was throwing up loads of big uns
