Think I am into the years highlighting the stupid decision that leeds gave permission for the horses to roam Jimmy. Did you tease any out ? As a member for many years that may have fished more of the associations waters than most I still wonder why there is all this fuss about knotford. We need a leadership of the association that values the superb river venues that the association has and puts in more effort to safeguard these waters rather than let them decay as the leaders of the club have done . What has happened at knotford is nothing compared to the way the rivers have been neglected. Ir is about time this lot moved on. The prime minister and presidency of the USA comes up every 4 or 5 years. Why do these guys seem to have positions for as long as they want them. I have never had the opportunity to vote for the club officials - neither have they ever said what they are prepared to offer the club for the membership to consider in over 20 yrs of being a member. This can't be right can it ? The club is stagnating - some new blood has been introduced and I'm all for that. It's time the old guard threw themselves on their swords imo! But Geoff this isn't me trying to get into an argument with you,,,, The agm was JUST held and all the officials had there d,day they all was under vote,,, so potentially could of been voted off the clubs official committee,,, but all those who attended inc me voted them to stay on,,,, And why Because they turn up and do a job for the club which isn't an easy job by no stretch of the imagination,,, Poor grayham park an absoloute DUAMOND of a geezer and takes it all on the chin does it all for free,,,, we really should be thanking theese guys for what there doing,,,, not mocking them Yes yes there's new blood needed and me and a couple of others had the chance to turn up and be put on the committee,,, if you ask me they need more a lot more mix of anglers because it's built up of river anglers and match men,,, It actually needs more carp men,, there are only 2 on the committee me and another guy who bailiffs Knotford,,, Carp Geoff and commercial kippax is the future of the club unfortunately for you, but it is,,,, I take a look around the committee room and I'm the youngest there by HALF yes it needs new blood And why all the fuss about Knotford sorry but that's a moronic statement,,, knotfotd is OWNED not leased by the club it's an asset of over 100k And it's fished by average a handful a guys ,,, with most refusing to renew and fish the place,,, This could generate potentially £1000s of ££££a a year,,,. This money would be put back into the club for your rivers,,,, So how about taking an Isaac Newton approach and think about it outside the box pal,,, Who gives a stuff about topcliffe ? I don't fish it I don't care.... It's the same as saying thst Geoff,,, your in a club,,, CLUB TOGETHER,,, Ps I care about topcliffe,, was just giving examples,,, Jimmy

Thanks for your reply Jimmy. Interesting as ever. How many members were at the meeting ? More than are members of the club forum? if not is this method of decision making actually relevant in these times. Also why wasn't I or any other member of the club who is not a delegate asked for OUR opinions as to who we wanted to take the club forward. The technology is there now but the leadership ignore it because they know that their positions would become untenable if it was open to the general membership. The club stance on the horses at knotford, the imprisonment of pervert club backed coaches and disastrous decisions with regard to topcliffe - I will be surprised if I am the only one that is leaving at the end of this disastrous year and who is no longer prepared to support such an inept leadership.

Notford looked beautiful and I didn't find the weed where I fished too much of a problem, some of the anglers I spoke to said they did others didn't. There was about 10 anglers on today, a 50/50 split carp and pike. A consensus amongst the pike anglers was the fishing is in decline over the last couple of years, with the pike massively under weight and one recently found dead about 20lbs. However the carp anglers seem quite happy(except for the horses and mud.) and believe the lake to be entering a big fish faze when the carp are reaching big weights. A lot of the pike boys desperately want a stocking of silvers, believing the fish are literally starving! Also one was considering not rejoining Leeds. Ps. I did see an under weight 14lb pike caught, the length of the fish would suggest it should have been a near 20!

Pike thrive on neglect -NOT ON HAVING CATCHES POSTED ON OPEN FORUMS - all this publicity about 14's and 20's will condemn them to more pressure and interference and many early deaths - thanks EDDIE! Esox Lucius

Geoff, to change anything you HAVE TO ATTEND AN AGM MATE,,,, otherwise all the screaming and shouting will do nothing,,, ALSO you have to put in proposals before the agm,,, and those that ATTEND the agm have a vote on it,,, and the majority win,,, So if you put in a proposal,,, all forum members are to be counted and classed as whatever,, and it's voted upon then you have your say on here,,, Otherwise it's back to the old school ways,,,, Don't think though mate PLENTY didn't get thrown up because it did,,,, charley fairy stepped up and said why isn't technology used In today's times,,, and it got discussed In fact Geoff I'm still suprised of how much they actually took into account what the members said and there responses.,,, this meeting was 10fold better than committee meetings,,, I've attended in previous clubs,,, Serious mate if your so enthusiastic about it then why don't you spend some of your spare time and join the committee And do something good for a club you like/love,,, Do they need a shake up ?? New blood ?? Yes of course,,, But you gotta follow the right path,,, follow the yellow brick road mate and operate within the rules,,,

Jimmy - I have spent 30 yrs of being in charge and telling people what to do. I have been there done it - it's time to pass on the baton. It would take a monumental shift in emphasis of the club for me to want to be associated with Leeds - see my recent post for reasons why. Isn't it for the club to decide how the matters of the club are carried out ? - you don't have to attend an agm if the club decides so. Tom ( charleyfarley) is a mate of mine - it's interesting that two retired science teachers seem more ready to stir things up than some of the current leadership. The club will always be for it's membership not it's committee.

Nice one Geoff, when your arguments fall apart why not resort to insults, it shows you for what you are, a big mouth behind a keyboard, you can't hide forever, what goes around comes around. Ps. Who posted the picture of the knotford pike? That's right it was you, what a hypocrite and doesn't that make you the stupid one, let me think, answer yes it does.
