I've been down to the club tonight to collect the yearbooks and managed to grab a few minutes with Graham in between him wading through his workload. The two, pieces of land in the process of being sold to Andy are OUTSIDE the otter fence. The proposed "paddock" for the horses to graze in is INSIDE the otter fence. The entrance to this paddock will be through the western end of the two, plots of sold land. This paddock will be self contained with water troughs etc so there will be no need for the horses to leave the paddock. Hope this clarifies the matter. I do have a copy of the above plan but I'm up at half 5 to go Piking in the morning so I' afraid it's beeboos for me rather than trying to download and upload it. I will do it as soon as I have a bit of spare time though. All the best Dave R So looks like the sale of the land is going full steam ahead then despite it seems everyone (expect you and mr park) strongly oppose the decision ie the members you represent, Well can you just tell the members what possible benefit to the club the sale of the land will be and please dont come out with (andy looks after the lake rubbish) I think if you sell the land it will without doubt be the worst decision in the history of leeds angling club and will cost you even more members. [/quote] Hi Winter, I'm assumed this question is aimed at me so if I can just put one or two things into perspective. 1. From a personal fishing point of view I couldn't care less whether Knotford has horses or a herd of Elephants from Jungle Book singing " in a military style " tramping around it. 2. What I do find frustrating is the fact that 25% of the members are represented by Delegates. These Delegates make decisions which affect the other 75% of the members (as in the case of selling the land at Knotford and the WEir at Topcliffe ) Unlike you , I didn't come on here whinging and moaning I got of my arse and did something about it. I set up Forum AC and with 39 members this year we now have 3 delegates who will attend the monthly Delegates meetings and have our say and vote. Why don't you and the Knotford lads do the same. 5 members gets you 2 delegates. You will however have to put aside a complete Thursday evening once a month, pay for your own petrol, spend hours sorting out year books , cheques, PayPal, bank transfers, stamps, postage, envelopes and delivery. Strangely enough I quite enjoy this , especially when it's for a bunch of great lads. Give it a try. The fact that I post information on here is down to the kindness of my heart and my frustration that 75% of the members wouldn't get to know what's going on otherwise. I don't have to pass this information on and if it causes you a problem Just say so anad I will stop posting it ! So in response to your question, you need to be asking the President , the officers and the Delegates these questions not two guys who come on here and have the decency to try and keep you informed. Have a word with Wrighty , he might be able to shed some light on the matter . . . . He's one of the other lads that fishes Knotty

The statement was not a stand alone comment WInter , it was a precursor to what followed. I suppose if you are so blinkered that you cannot even recognise the guys that are trying to help you through the maze of the Leeds and District ASA constitution then it's far easier to take the blinkered approach and keep banging away like a stuck record. Good luck with your endeavours. A final tip and little secret to help you The club President doesn't come on here, nor do any of the ten or so officials of the club except Graham Park, and finally none of the forty or so Delegates come on here except the 3 Forum AC ones . . . . . These are all the guys that make the decisions in the club . . . . Get my drift All the best Rushy

Winter mate all Dave says is correct, but thanks to him setting up forum ac there are 3 delegates, himself included. And we have all 3 joined Leeds sub committees. So can and I certainly will make sure knotford is discussed at Leeds. Graham is trying to do his best for knotford and I think is influenced to some extent by forum opinions, after all the idea of Andy's electric paddock fence was changed to Leeds building a proper wooden one. Anyway Graham is trying to get the new fence financed and I don't know how successful he will be, especially with all the money already spent on the otter fence. I will still be suggesting the simplest and less expensive option is to have the horses outside the otter fence. And will let Leeds know how the anglers fishing knotford feel about the situation and how more would be likely to fish it and buy night permits, if the horses were removed from the banks. Don't know how much influence it will have on the outcome, but I am willing to try. I suppose knotford has been debated on forum season after season, with the same names complaining over and over. But unless they make a club themselves, or join one that already exists, so they have delegates to go to Leeds, where else can their opinions be heard. A few more committee men at Leeds perhaps should take note of their forum!

Members should not have to join/form new clubs or become delegates or comittee members in order to qualify for their voices to be heard. The horses seem to be causing the problem and it shouldn't be that difficult to sort out. If they were clomping about on somebodies shipped back three grand pole it'd be a different story

Ok thanks eddie it just gets frustrating when it seems everyone on the forum knows what the problem with knote is and has for years, get the horses of the lake altogether and members and nigh ticket sales will return,i mean this has been going on for many years with the loss of many £1OOOs even £1O,OOOs of in lost revenue since the otter fence wos finished and the horses have been running free,Just think 1O books with night permits = £127O 2O = £254O a year ! in lost income because of the horses thats just 1 year start multiplying them figures it adds up plus the club would have a lot more happy members.

No problem, after all how is anyone to be expected to know that Leeds don't read their own forum? You would think your views are being considered, very frustrating! Leeds really needs more members, happy members would be a bonus!
