Well looks like Knotford's unfishable till spring again... Stopped by knotford today and the gypsy's are making good use of there shiny new fly tipping land Leeds sold them, won't be long before you can see a pile of crap from the Chevin..... God forbid they dump any chemicals in there that wash into the lake then your on course for another Ilkley ponds poisoning fiasco... Who is making these crazy decisions, it's almost as if someone wants to sabotage the place!!!!!

I made the decision to sell them the land, I also agreed the price, I am also dealing with the solicitors regarding the contract, I also mapped out the stockade for the horses so you would be able to fish safely, what more can I say, you try your best and fail to get the support so let's see who takes it on now. If it was a length of the R. Ouse it would have been sorted!!!!!
Regards Graham

I'm not questioning how hard you work for the club Graham as everything you guys do over there is appreciated.....but why sell them land they're just going to fill with rubbish? Leeds own the water outright don't they? So surely the money wasn't needed. Regards

Sounds like a nightmare Graham hopefully with a paddock and a path the problems will be solved. Having said that, the one person you don't wanna sell land to is a gypsy, that land is just gonna be fly tipping central now. Knotford was one of the top carp waters round here a decade ago and it's been sad to see it go downhill. Hopefully once the horses are fenced stuff will grow again and bring it back from a swamp to its vibrant former glory. Regards

Northface - read between the lines mate. " if it was the River Ouse then this would have been sorted by now " I'm not privy to any detail but it Sounds like Graham is fighting a losing battle on behalf of those that want something doing with Knotford If it was the road down to Linton On Ouse that was in a bad state of repair you can bet you're bottom dollar the. Tippe r truck with scalpings on would be there before you could say "when's the next match " I hope you don't but if you lads do decide to quit Knotford and your Leeds books it would be no more than the club deserve - Graham excepted ! Happy Christmas to all Dave R

I know rushy, I see what your saying...... My gripe isn't with Graham and I hope it's never come across that way, what he does has been brilliant re: otter fence etc. but this is a members forum where we were asked for open opinions about the place. Not every aspect of those opinions is going to be a glowing report unfortunately but that's what it's for.... I won't be giving up my knotford book any time soon (one of the best waters around) too much nostalgia down there

Has the land been sold yet? I think the best idea would be getting the solicitors to serve papers to them to get the horses moved off full stop. Thr gypsy has other land he puts horses on so maybe the best idea would br moving them off full stop. I say this as if they move onto knotford or use it as a tip it will b a nightmare. All ur work is appreciated as I dont envy u but surly as land owners we have rights

With all due respect - we've had the regretful decision on topcliffe and the subsequent mess with the back tracking with the solicitors and now this mess giving land on credit to travellers that are turning it into a tip. What is going on?

Can someone explain why wrighty's having his posts deleted? He just appears to be expressing the same concerns as the rest of us.

Yes my post has gone. Surly the forum is for members to express their concerns freely. Could the mods please explain which rules I broke. Its not North Korea. Next ull be releasing my catch reports to the masses without my concent. Come on we gave andy a chance. The horses messed up the land he bought and they are now back on the lake. It shows je is not one for keeping his word so will he keep to his word and pay for the land

I noticed the post had gone too, didn't comment until I new if it was self deleted or removed! As far as I'm concerned there was nothing insulting about it. It just expressed an opinion. That's not moderation, it's censorship.
Eddie.

There was a post deleted a while ago. It spoke about an angler asking the gypsy fella to move his horse. The gypsy had told him to get his shirt off. If he lost he'd move his horse. Graham seems to be doing his best but who us responsible for getting this sort of issues sorted.

New can of worms. Andy has been there a long time. He wants what's best for his mules, but if a deal has been agreed it must adhered to. I'll get my book, I'll fish it there as much as I can and I'll make my own mind up about the politics. Northface has done is d**nedest for the lake and it was sabotaged. Let's see how it pans out. Happy Xmas
