Well it's a lot quieter on here tonight! Just thought while the weather is so nice I would have a drive over to knotford tomorrow. Have a look at the state of the place, pre delegates meeting and take a rod and do some leading around and feature finding with a marker float. Try and build up a bit of a map of a few swims. I know some of the lake topography, but all info is useful, so I intend to get a bit more intimate with some of the areas I am less familiar with. Anyway beats sitting at home, can't wait to give it a go, this spring!

You'd think so, I usually just shut my eyes and boom it out there.... So it looks like I will be doing a lot of casting and retrieving to map the place, then in the spring I will just close my eyes and blast it out there, or fish to a feature maybe? Anyway will be nice to have another look at the place, see you tomorrow maybe! Eddie.

Jimmy wouldn't be the first time I've gone in after a carp! You know the score it has to be done sometimes! Johnboy I have no idea when someone would be at kippax, but I suspect in winter you are less likely to catch someone there, try the anglers club. If that is a problem I am sure one of us could pick one up for you and pass it on. Let me know if you are struggling to get hold of one, if I can help out, I will..

Eddie not first time I've been caught SHORT chasing a carp When it comes to landing my prize I'll do anything 3 smashed phones .... Smashed £450 rod reel setup slung so I can hit a screaming run,,,, my pals don't fish near me when I'm on it lol they fear what I may throw to hit a run,,,, This cheeky little lady tried wrapping me round a tree it was get in or loose fish turned out to be a nice 17lb common Also Eddie few tippes when tackling a new water pal best to find the fish first rather than the features,,, you may map the full lake out,,, bet then turn up to fish the place and see 20-30 carp crashing other side of the lake,,, when I'm chancing it on a lake I look for the carp/fish first and usually cast a bare lead i em near them,,, then have a feel around,,,, and slip a rig over then with a few scatterings of bait,,,, Best to have a rig in 30 mins in the right place rather than 24 hour in the wrong place,,,, Best time to hit them come spring when they wake up and start showing use a salty spod mix as they crave salt when in pre spawn deadly

I have fished it before Jimmy, but it is full of bars, shallows, weedbeds and features, I already know where I can catch, have done before. Just a case of building a bank of knowledge. It's great when we can get the swim we want, but I want to know the spots in several swims, just incase! Who knows might find some new ones! Anyway just want to get out on the banks, next best thing to fishing.
