MOOR MONKTON MEMBERS ONLY LEEDS DO NOT NEED THE SALE OF DAY TICKETS CAN YOU NOT SEE THE DIVIDE STAN AND HIS CREW ARE CREATING MEMBERS ONLY IS THE ONLY WAY FORWARD OR ARE YOU JOINING THE DARK SIDE GRAHAM Once again have to agree, why do we need a fancy electronic gate how much is that going to cost ?? I'm sure the money you would save could go towards the work you mentioned Graham and would be much better spent or as it already been decide??Just get a BWB lock on it make it members only suit all other Leeds still waters, if the day ticket lads like it that much I sure they would buy the book !! Well that is if you can fish during the weekends and till dusk ,not to much chance of that for us LEEDS members this year ahead. Cabbo

Just trying to let members know what is going on with MMP.
Members only would be the way to go but not immediately, income is needed to support the work that you know needs to be done
Regards Graham

Graham this isn't about having a go at you but something needs to be done about it ,talk of electronic gates this is not necessary work what needs to be done at MMP or is it so they don't have to get of their fat arses and open and shut the gate behind them a luxury not required ,as you say income is needed then don't let them waste what we have as a Leeds club or like I asked in my first question as this already been decided and if so by whom ?? if you stopped stan throwing money at every thing that moves at moor monkton without consulting anybody we would not need to fund moor monkton as much do you agree graham

Since when did it become my fault what is spent at MMP, I have one vote only on any subject and you know me better than to have this discussion

PREVIOUS POST We don't have a local baliff so my understanding is that everyday someone is travelling from Leeds to baliff the place. Leeds to Moor Monkton , according to Google is 28 miles , that's a 56 mile round trip. Whoever is going is quite rightly claiming petrol money which In industry is around 40p a mile. 56 X 40p = £22.40 £22.40 X 365 days a year = £8176 It's probably costing us more to go collect the day ticket money . . . Some commercial venture that !!! And don't forget the poor guy who's going to collect the money is there all day wasting his life away for nothing !!! I strongly suspect that once you make it members only all the regular day ticket guys will see sense and buy a yearbook anyway. Adult members only have to fish it ten times to get their money back and senior citizens get their money back after half a dozen visits . ??[/quote] As per my above previous post , the income from day tickets does not even cover the mileage money for the bailiffs . . . . Unless someone can show me otherwise. Bear in mind my presumption of £22.46 a day could be incorrect one way or the other but I doubt anyone would travel 56 miles and spend a whole day sat at MMP for £22.46 less the actual cost of petrol and wear and tear on your car !!! Also bear in mind Graham's 6 month figure of £3300 day ticket sales was based on March to August. I bet the day tickets plunge from August to March . From first hand experience, I can tell you there is a STRONG RELICTANCE amongst , and I'm sorry to say it , the Matchmen , to extend the hours past 8pm. Why . . . . . I've not the foggiest idea and I'm almost losing the will to try and find out why ! The sooner this club , the committees , and various factions all start pulling together and looking after everyone's interest , the better because otherwise I fear it is on a slippery slope

Looks I have become number one villain in this just by honestly answering questions from members, never mind that's me unlogged.

when i worked at the Little Chef down the road 15/20 years ago, i used to fill the matchmen stomachs with Full English Breakfasts before they fished. i also used to fish it when it was just 1 pond the 2 back ponds joined together with no front pond and a stock pond at the back.
the islands and banks had plenty of cover for the fish and well maintained KEVIN did a great Job.
they came from all over to fish it as Carpvale was one of Yorkshires premier fisheries,
i came back to Leeds DSAS 3/4 years ago after 20 odd years been in another club, when i heard Leeds had bought Carpvale i was over the moon. i afraid to say Leeds is making MMP more of a commercial fishing for 1 thing in mined MATCHMEN.
Don't get me started on the trees where`s the breakers for the wind and the bush cover for the fish,
Graham i`ve only met you once and you seem a sound guy so this isn't based at you,
JB.

Looks I have become number one villain in this just by honestly answering questions from members, never mind that's me unlogged. Graham , you a villain , far from it !!! I think you might be misinterpreting the posts mate . . . Always a potential problem with the written word. I'm sure everyone on here knows you are Leeds ASA through and through and have the interests of ALL members at heart. At least with the figures available we can try and put forward a logical Argument for our case. Like you , I don't fish MMP more than half a dozen times a year and when I do it is through the day on a Tuesday or Thursday so I couldn't PERSONALLY care less what the opening times are , but what does frustrate me as a Committee member is the injustice to the 75% of non - affiliated members who don't have any means of expressing their dissatisfaction other than waiting for the AGM . All the best Dave R

replace all at the top then have a good look at the books is the way forward then keep everything out in the open where it belongs not in the hands of a chosen few who can't help themselves from making it all about them !! . Think yourselves lucky you could have got another new clubhouse roof if the powers that be diddn't panic buy carpvagas to get the money out of reach is a tale that ive heared . i think its about time these big contracts and deals like the otter fences and carpvagas are looked at in detail by the delegates instead of just a few at the top throwing tens of thousands of pounds here there and everywhere. im not saying anything dodgy is going on at the top but a lot of money has been spent in the last few years and when you hear stories about lads on £100 a day turning up at dinnertime to help out on the otter fences it grates a bit so maybe a bit more transparency is needed especially now there is no hiding from the members with the rise of social media. Maybe its time for all including jgpark to call it a day and let some new blood take control of the club to safeguard its future..

hi can we not sell the day tickets at skip bridge, York I belive sell there day tickets there .make day tickets 8 untill 8 and if permits could be in the form of a badge then every one would not have to be checked we could in fact self baliff at a glance also make a small visitors parking area no gate and issue every member a key for main gate this key should also fit knotsford moormonkton winersett kipax and sandworth and thus allowing ever member the opportunity to acess these fishing jewells

Springer calling for resignations at hq is going to achive nothing my friend, unless you and a few others are going to step up for election. Although there are big issues to be adressed at mmp chelping on here is going to change nothing. The only way we can get out points of view heard is through our respective delegates.
Untill we have a clear plan of the changes we would all like to happen we are going nowhere, perhaps someone with strong feelings could put up a poll of a few key points ?
Mick
