Knotford and there are pike in a worse state than this also but as wally says the days of 30s in there are long gone as iv tried to explain the fish to 30lb were not from knotsford....that pike in the photo reminds me of a few pike I had from lowther about ten years ago apparently due to cormorant predation depleting the silver fish stocks....anyhow lowther produced pike to over twenty pound earlier this year with a fair few doubles.p's I usually try not to mention pike waters on forums but the club who run lowther are very open about fish stocks it helps them sell books

I'm well relaxed, just spent the day blanking at knotford, but I did chat to six other anglers that fish the place quite regularly and while everyone you talk to seems to have their own ideas about the place, one demand is universal, do something about the horses running free and churning the place up. One guy not renewing his book and night permit because of them. Apparently on Wednesday 10 to 15 roaming round the lake, not the 2 babies I saw an Friday and today!

Exactly what I've been saying for weeks Eddie lad,,, I know for a fact a few minor changes to this place will make it an award winning fishery once again,,,, Jimmy

Think I am into the years highlighting the stupid decision that leeds gave permission for the horses to roam Jimmy. Did you tease any out ? As a member for many years that may have fished more of the associations waters than most I still wonder why there is all this fuss about knotford. We need a leadership of the association that values the superb river venues that the association has and puts in more effort to safeguard these waters rather than let them decay as the leaders of the club have done . What has happened at knotford is nothing compared to the way the rivers have been neglected. Ir is about time this lot moved on. The prime minister and presidency of the USA comes up every 4 or 5 years. Why do these guys seem to have positions for as long as they want them. I have never had the opportunity to vote for the club officials - neither have they ever said what they are prepared to offer the club for the membership to consider in over 20 yrs of being a member. This can't be right can it ? The club is stagnating - some new blood has been introduced and I'm all for that. It's time the old guard threw themselves on their swords imo!
