I am beginning to wish I had kept quiet on this one! No barbel were caught ,its not been fishing that well the last couple of years!! The crops have not yet been harvested but once you turn the corner its bare and easy walking. There are a few pegs that could do with a trim but its around that stile where the main difficulties are. You need to be careful around there with barbed wire overgrowth ect. I am actually looking forward to fishing near the mill in the future as well. Its a fantastic length so much to go at. I just wish I had more time!

yh me but I`m going to fish first field above tha weir, there`s a certain Barble I lost last year want to see if still there.
might pre bait before we start tha main job.
looks like nice weather for it, plenty of T-shirts I may sweat a bit lol OK I'm a novice but my instinctive grasp of barbel psychology tells me that fish has been hiding from you ever since .... And if you were that fish, where would YOU be??? Aha, yeah. .... AT HORSESHOE BEND !!!!! Eating slugs and snails, crayfish and kippers and getting EVEN HUGER!!! (don't worry Nick we'll feed 'em, you come back and catch 'em when the queues have gone)

Hi all I picked up another strimmer from the Club last night so all being well we should have 4 strimmers on the go. Coupled with the loppers, hedge trimmers, machetes , scythes , bolt cutters, barbed wire cutters , spades, sledge hammers , stihl saws, cement mixers and 110 volt jack hammers we should make good progress. See you all at 8am ish or whatever time you arrive. We can maybe get away with 4 cars driving down to the Mill so for those of us that can't walk far without puffing I'm sure we can all squeeze into the cars. Oh , nearly forgot. Mick , don't forget your Speedos and flip flops , don't want you cutting your feet in the river Cabbo , can you bring some of your Garlic Spam if we are having a cast or two at the Horseshoe bend , don't really want to use mine and it seems a shame if you have 15 tins

Looking forward to it , although the sub aquatic swim spotting duties will be better suited to the taller anglers.

Last time i wasn't there till about 11 cos I got a bit wrecked the night before.
Tonight my way of ensuring i'm there by about 9am involves getting wrecked a lot nearer to Hammerton, but it also means I may not have any tools with me. Some might say his is OK cos i'm already a massive tool anyway.
Looking forward to it, seeyas.
*and NO of course NOT GETTING WRECKED is NOT AN OPTION.

Dave make that 5 as have a strimmer, Nige have the perfect job for you if you have no tools look at my profile picture in it you will see my two sons their attire in the picture will be well suited for your task tomorrow what size are you? As the lads are aged 13 & 15 in the picture so one is bound to fit they are currently 6-5 & 6-3 respectively perfect fit for you. Do you want the boots? Or do you need something heavier for the flow. Cabbo are you wearing the tracksuit you had on last year? 15 tins won't be enough you'll have to get more

A good day and plenty of work put in by all, there's some good pegs opened up now. I stayed on for a few hours and fished the sheep field above the weir, I'd seen enough pink flowers for one day, got a chub about three lbs on the stick but that was it.
