renewable in the means of wind turbines, and your right its not the right part of the forum, hope my last point and garys last point are read by the people behind LDSA and they can help all who spend most of there fishing time and to get anglers back on the banks of wintersett and away from infested puddles which is where they all fled to leaving the place a free for all.

Was rather hoping to have had some sort of reply from someone on the Committee by now, even if it was just to say we're looking into it. At the meeting held at the Heronry on June 5th '07 I believe it was decided to put gates up at the entrances to all the lakes, what's happening?,don't keep us in the dark. I put up a 'new' sign/air rifle target at the entrance to Wintersett yesterday,I'm confident that it will deter off roaders!!.Talking of which they have been tooling around again over the last couple of days, and churned things up even more, its getting difficult to get round on foot in some parts. Water is still running out of Botany at a fair rate, the bit of rain over the last couple of days has already run out into Wintersett through the dam wall. When the water level in Botany equalises with Wintersett it stops, perhaps asking the managemant of the Heronry to stop letting water from Wintersett into their lake will help if this problem is still with us in the Spring. Maybe someone from the Club 'Leadership' will come and have a look, you have my details on file if you want to contact me (Bailiff No 0119) or even easier send me a PM to arrange a date. Thanks to Ged this morning for turning up,and congrats to Az,he didn't turn up,but as he said he would have a good excuse,he did in the form of a 7lb 2oz son!. Once again I look forward to a reply.
Gary

Nice to read about the work you lads are doing at Wintersett, gates would be a great addition and at least would provide a deterrent, but locks may be a problem, i think the Wakefield Club have had a fair few problems with their locks, particularly at horbury.
I don't get down there as much as i would like, but when i do i always collect some rubbish, cans and the like.
There are some considerate anglers down there, but there are also some idiots who see it more a social event, which i don't mind provided they clear their rubbish and cut down on the noise.

any chance of an insight as to what will be discussed and to what will brought to the attention of the commitee, the gates are top of the agenda i hope, and if youre in anydoubt regarding the complex just remember that the lads down there want the best for club, water and surroundings. I think that the thought's of a certain few and myself are to be of 'you look after us and we'll help look after wintersett to the clubs best interests' we just need that start from the board and u.k.coal to apply action after the words. lets face it LADASA youve got signs above a premier complex and its a embarrasment to the club. any non member south of leeds that does not know of your other waters will most definetly not have respect for the club on first view of the place, which in turn shows that day anglers cant even be bothered to buy a ticket, its a free for all. So lets work together and put an end to this debate, the potential the place has to offer is unlimited, as are the memorys of so many anglers in the past 50 odd years, and the sight of it now just doesnt bare thinking! So i ask our commitee please give us lads and day anglers down here something to be proud of. We awate your reply in eagerness and an insight prior to your meeting would be most appreciated, thanks frim for letting us know that weve not been forgotton even though of the busy xmas period. Az.

i understand that problems with keys at horbury are down to illegal copies and people not locking gates behind them, also its down to a lack of enforcement of rules that has lead to a ban of nightfishing. They dont operate a night fishing permit system like leeds, and the kind of things happening had got out of hand to such an extent that the fishery was being used as an unofficial campsite for some very dodgy characters, the result-legitamate anglers lose their night fishing. These illegal campers will be looking for a new place to go now and you can bet a fair few will be looking at wintersett, new gates will help keep them off OUR FISHERY. I think that people are getting message about day tickets now that theres more bailiff activity on the bank, thank to gary, but we needs some signs please commitee
