This is not about Harrogate council at all ! It is part of the democratic process. It enables people like me who are totally against the scheme to have my say during this process. A planning submission was made to erect a generator at topcliffe backed by Leeds DASA mate ! The local council to the site is Harrogate so the ELECTED officials weigh up the arguments for and against and come to a decision. They had no say in putting the plan together as far as I am aware.

Ecky Don't be upset by our Geoff , he's a bit touchy on this subject. He is of course correct , it wasn't Harogate Council that applied for planning permission but likewise I'm sure like the rest of us ! He could tell it was a tongue in cheek chuckle moment . . . Keep posting bud

It worries me Craig that all's gone quiet on this decision. I'm a old cynic and I'm convinced the delays will work against us. I haven't heard any news on the subject recently, apart from the fact that some changes to the design/layout were underfoot. Lets hope it comes to a conclusion in our favour soon.
Regards Mick.

There are so many complications with the scheme, who is responsible for the upkeep of the weir etc. and all the other considerations that we have gone through on here before and I think when the new plans were submitted, it was like starting again from the beginning, so don't hold your breath!

Apparently the Tories have overspent their renewable energy subsidy budget and are looking to make wholesale changes so maybe this scheme (amongst others) will fall victim to that. Smaller subsidy and the scheme doesn't make enough money for the company pushing it.
