Now what fish were you intending to catch fishface ? Hope you know that trout are out of season in November so you should release them and then move swims if you catch them - doesn't sound like you did if you caught 14 does it ? Try catching them on the fly - in season of course - if you want a better challenge and certainly more enjoyment than a feeder rod !

Sounds like a good day Fishface ... Shame about the nuisance trout .... Don't they know they shouldn't be taking your bait at this time of year Grayling to 2 and a half pound . Wow , that's some Grayling

I doubt those fish were weighed - fish claimed as 2 or 2.5 lb rarely are !! would be nice to see pics of them move swims if you catch out of season trout rushy!! Next thing you know you will be advocating legering triple lobworm for trout at topcliffe weir come the coarse fish close season !! Don't them barbel know they shouldn't be taking your triple lobs in the trout season

Fished Middleham today had a great day catching 14 brown trout to 2lb 1 salmon parr and 7 grayling to 2 1/2 lb missed loads as a bite a chuck on 10ft feeder rod Interesting you missed loads of bites and got a bite a chuck on the feeder rod. When I tried it on the Wharfe the other day with a little bomb on , I had the rod in my hand stood in mid river and struck as soon as the rod end went. All the fish I caught had swallowed the bait ........ Impossible to miss ... Almost self hooked

Sounds like a busy session, trout can be a bit kamikaze when taking baits and deep hooking often happens. Better suited to fly fishing in season, but good session and an interesting read. Good info on venue, did you fish any of the new lengths?

If it was weighed 2.5 lb is an awesome Yorkshire grayling. I would be happy with one half that size from the nidd this week. Hope these disco shrimps I tied yesterday will do the trick !
