Mark, No mate Leeds have the fishing from just below bridge at sth accom (left bank) then swaps to right bank at footbridge down past Knostropp weir through to the dump above thwaites weir, the length below the weir to just above skelton grange rd bridge was donated to the mill as a good will gesture for them to use as a wildlife reserve when we first secured our rights from bwb, fishing starts again from skelton bridge down stream past weir through the old rothwell pit land under motorway bridge and below the weir where the river was diverted, if you get that far you have got your back to the canal at fishpond lock. Steve.

Frim you let the world in on your chub secret! glad you could make it down for a chuck, the switch to your smelly friend on the hook certainly brought the bites back. if we`d caught 35lb in 3 1/2 hrs on a commercial today we would have been well happy. mind you the prospect of ice breaking is one i didnt fancy.
ps how do you get the smell off your fingers ? lol

Try a lump of fish 1 to 2 inch long for chub on a size 2 hook. Lamprey is best but sardine will do.

Well I heard Rushy might be on one of his forays on the bank Now thinking on that you can get a few quid from you've been framed i took myself down to the bank were i knew he would turn up I looked over and the tart had beaten me too it he was there fishing already..i was really looking forward to some falling from the tree's action aswell. ho hum anyway worked beckoned for me and i was waylaid for an hour but managed to get on the bank and wet a line this time Bobby had turned up and was upstream to my right he reckond he was fishing but i reckon he was feeding the ducks coz he never caught owt ;D anyay i got between em and cast out my stinky sweaty sock smelling lump of cheese paste after about 10 mins rushy decided to remind me that it was his birthaday at the weekend and gave me one of his birthday cakes made by his daughter I am really pleased with myself at taking this picture why well normally when some one puts a cake in front of me like that they would normally have to check that they got 4 fingers and a thumb back Not only that Rushy started feeding me ...he gave me ½ a corned beef sarny aswell I like fishing with rushy he brings food ;D Rushy had caught some chub prior to me getting there so i will let him tell us all about it. but good to see a few lads down there enjoyed the craic even if i did not catch anything i got fed ;D see you saturday dave

As my casting finger had healed and my tourettes had been cured, I decided to get back down to the Aire and have another go Arrived and tackled up for 10am. Chucked out the feeder and bent down to pick up the flask ..... whack ..around went the tip ! Chub pound and a half . what a start ;D Reload and out again - just about to pour the coffee - whack - Chub number 2 same size. Wow was I in for a good day Drunk my coffee then cast out again. A few more casts and I thought that was it then a lightening reaction by yours truly (still got it boys ! ) to a gentle drop back on the tip brought another Chub to the net. Deep in concentration, I was then given the fright of my life by a husky "Y'ad owt mate" ? Turned around to see old Lipptugga stood there. Now I can only think he was practicing his new found hobbies of skylining and wizardry cos for the next 3 hours I never got another bite We did however have a very romantic 3 hours on the side of the Aire together - a Valentines day I'll not forget for a while ;D Good to meet ya buddy , look forward to the next one ;D

Popped down on to the Aire at Newlay Lane on Saturday morning for a couple of hours. Lovely when I left the house, but within 10 minutes of setting up the rain had started and continuedon and off for the duration of my stay. Had a couple of bangs, on my smelly cheese paste but must be a little out of practice and missed them.
Certainly inspired me to get out and do about more river fishing
