I can probably source a strimmer, do we need another? Do we need chest waders is there anything that needs cutting back in the water? Will chuck the other bits and pieces in the car, you know water and water bombs etc. Eddie. Thanks Eddie , Jeremy's has blown up so it would be a big help if you can get hold of one. I will bring the petrol

well nobody's gonna see this are they now, but now I've wasted time looking for the keys to the shed and can't make the 8.36 either.
See you before 11o'clock lads and I'll try to double me work-rate.
(none of you top executives on the L&DASA crew will ever offer me a job now eh?)

Nice to meet everyone, bacon sarnie, a morning strimming, then to the pub for a pint and a bite to eat with everyone sat in the sunshine and a bit of banter, very enjoyable. Then one or two of us off to Moor Monkton pools for an evening session fishing, first time I've been, but Leeds have acquired a cracking venue there, fished peg 49 on the match pool, 33 carp to 8/9lb ish and a couple of tench, must have had about 100lb in weight all together! Now if I can just get those grass stains out of my jeans, will have been a perfect day. I'll say it again nice to have met everyone and well done giving up your time and effort and making a lovely venue accessible for all!
Eddie.

Now if I can just get those grass stains out of my jeans, will have been a perfect day. I'll say it again nice to have met everyone and well done giving up your time and effort and making a lovely venue accessible for all! Eddie. I can only echo Eddie's comments - great to put faces to some of the names on here, nice to meet you all and hope everyone got a great sense of achievement out of it! I only did half a shift - sorry folks - so I only have a 50% sense of achievement, which is why I decided I should have two pints at the Alice to double it. Claire has a 100% sense of achievement after 20 lovely carp at Moor Monkton to 7-7 ( averaging well over 4lb so my rough sums say that was at least 85-90 lb). We fished all three lakes, her pole of course trouncing my feeder/waggler results on all 3 (I only got 5 carp, a chub and a roach. Mind you I didn't start fishing until I'd seen her land 4 or 5!). What got me most was how on the pole on all 3 lakes Claire had a fish on within a few seconds of the first bait going in. Rushy meanwhile should have 300% of a sense of achievement for getting the working party organised & done, catching on every cast (or every flick) at MM, and showing Claire the deadly secrets of the master mussel fisher. I reckon there'll be evenings in the summer when she leaves me on the Nidd and goes off to catch a dozen carp while I wait for a bite.

It was nice to meet some of the forum members on the work party yesterday , well worth forfeiting a few hours fishing for. My first impression of the job in hand was this is going to take a few days at least , but the strimonator boys soon had it looking tidy. We split into two groups and started at opposite ends of the length , working back to where we accessed the river bank , digging out pegs and sorting out the vegetation as we progressed. The place now is accessible for all and has some cracking pegs that look banker chub/barbel swims. It just needs to be fished to keep the paths open and I think we have a lovely fishery to go at in the coming season. A big slap on the back for Rushy who pulled every one together and looked after us on the day (champagne and smoked salmon sandwiches) courtesy of the club. All in all a fun and productive day. Regards Mick.
